To participate in a study, you’ll need to connect the following data:

  1. Via browser extension installed on your laptop or desktop computer
  2. Via mobile app on Android or iOS app
  3. Mango Browser mobile app on Android or iOS app


IMPORTANT NOTES: 

  • If Mango Browser is a required part of your study, you will need to use the Mango Browser on your mobile phone as the main browser during the study
  • Please be assured that we do not capture keystrokes, usernames, passwords, emails, or any messaging content. The captured digital journey will only be used for market research purposes and will be treated in aggregate. Here are the Terms and Conditions for more info https://joinvia.app/legal. 

After the study ends, Via will automatically send an email to signal the completion of your participation. You may then uninstall and remove all data connections.

CONNECT DATA STEPS

After you join the study, you’ll see the following screen to specify the devices.
 Once devices are specified, click on the Next button. The following screen will be displayed to help you connect your data.


After connecting to all 3 available connections, you should see the status for browsers change to Connect as below:

Please do not delete or pause the study until the study period ends since recording/capturing of data is continuous within this period. This can disqualify you from getting the reward.



1.CONNECT: BROWSER EXTENSION ON LAPTOP OR DESKTOP COMPUTER


NOTE: Log in to your laptop or desktop computer to do this step. Browser extensions can only be installed on your computer, not on a mobile device

  1. After joining the study, you may already be on Via dashboard to get started. Otherwise navigate to https://joinvia.app/dashboard 
  2. In the browser extension screen, click the Connect button. 

  3. You will get redirected to a page to add the extension.

  4. On the new page, click Add to Chrome button.


  5. Click Add extension option.

  6. The extension will automatically be included on your browsers’ list of extensions.




2.CONNECT: VIA ANDROID APP

  1. Click the Install app button. You will be redirected to a page where you can Install the android app.

  2. On the new page, please scan the QR code from your mobile phone or select the Play Store link directly.
  3. Install the app from Google Play Store.
  4. On the app, click Login button 
  5. Please put your email and password. Then press Log In button 
  6. Select the devices you own and use, select ____ to continue 
  7. Upon entering, click Let's go button in the setup screen. 
  8.  Click on Enable location access button and follows the steps for location permission
  9. Enable both Usage access and Accessibility permission. Please follow the steps to connect for each permission 
  10. After providing permissions, click on Open dashboard button to navigate to dashboard page. 

  11. Select connect from the bottom navigation bar and click on Test connection button to check for all devices being connected. 

  12. After you are done connecting the Android, go back to your desktop/laptop browser and click Next to proceed to the Mango browser requirement.


3.CONNECT: VIA iOS APP

  1. Install the app from iOS AppStore.
  2. On the app, click Login button 
  3. Enter your email and password, then press the Log In button
  4. You'll be redirected to the Dashboard page on successful login.
  5. From the Dashboard, select Enable Extension on the card.
  6. Tap the AA icon on the left side of your Safari bar.
  7. Choose the Manage Extensions option.
  8. Find the Via extension and enable the toggle to turn on the Safari extension.
  9. A permission screen will appear asking how often you want the Via Safari extension to capture your browsing behavior.
  10. To participate in the study, select Always Allow, then confirm by selecting Always Allow on Every Website.That's it! You're now all setup on your Via iOS app





    4. CONNECT: MANGO BROWSER APP
    • Click the Install app button. You will be redirected to a page where you can Install the Mango Browser App
    • On the new page, please scan the QR code from your mobile phone or select the Play Store link
    • Install Mango Browser and accept the terms and make it your default browser (Step 2 of 3). Once you are done with the last step (Step 3 of 3), you can press Log In where you will get redirected to the Via App, or press Skip to explore the Mango Browser.

 Now you can Login with your Via account and use the Mango Browser during the  study.

d. Enter Email, Password and click on Log In button.



e. After logging in successfully, If you want to take the tour then select Start Tour button, else select the Skip button.

f.  Select Via on the Top left of home screen 

g.Via study browsing data screen is shown. Click on Sync now to manually sync the data. 

h. After you are done connecting the Mango Browser, go back to your desktop/laptop browser and click All done!
